Civilization is what happens when a planet's biosphere learns to externalize cognition. Twelve interconnected modules trace that process: from cosmology and biology, through intelligence and energy, into technology, AI, the Psy Protocol substrate, economics, geography, culture, networks, and the futures we are building. Each node below is a coordination substrate that, once available, enabled forms of organization that previously could not exist. Intelligence did not arrive in one leap. It accreted: light-sensitivity, motion-detection, prediction, memory, attention, language, symbolic thought, recursive self-modeling. Each layer is still present in modern minds; modern minds run all of them at once. Each technology in the tree below depends on technologies developed earlier. The recursion is not metaphorical — every later layer is literally implemented by an earlier one. Modern AI runs on GPUs that depend on photolithography that depends on chemistry that depends on metallurgy that depends on fire. Per-capita energy consumption is the single most predictive variable for the complexity a civilization can sustain. The chart below shows the rough order of magnitude across major energy regimes, in W/person averaged. From barter to AI economies, every economic regime is an answer to the same question: how do strangers exchange value when they cannot directly trust one another?   • No shallow hype. "Civilization OS" is a framing, not a proprietary product. Phrases like "the singularity", "the great convergence", "web3 revolutionizes everything" — banned on the principle that they substitute vibe for design specification. 不作浅薄炒作。"文明 OS"是一种框架,不是专有产品。"奇点"、"大融合"、"Web3 革新万物"——禁用,理由是它们以氛围替代设计规约。
  • No civilizational triumphalism. No "civilization X is the future" framings. Civilizations are institutional formations, not racial ones; rank-ordering them is a category error. 不作文明凯歌。不作"文明 X 是未来"之类框架。文明是制度形成而非种族形成;为之排序是范畴错误。

  • Honest about open questions.
